A Southern queer newsroom of one, for now
queerham started as a place to share queer stories from the South. Today it is a place to find out what is happening to our rights, what it means, and what to do about it.

Editorial standards
- Every post is labeled News, Explainer or Perspective. Opinion is always marked at the top.
- News links to the source. The bill text, the court ruling, the agency rule, or the original reporting. Where possible, more than one outlet, from different perspectives.
- We describe laws by what they do, using their official names first, and note what supporters and opponents say about them.
- Your Voices are readers' own stories, labeled as such, published with their permission under the name they choose. We check any factual claims about laws or named people before they run.
- No endorsements. queerham does not endorse candidates or parties. The voting guide and polls are nonpartisan.
- Independent sources only, and we show our work. Headlines in The Latest come from queer, nonprofit and community newsrooms, never national mainstream outlets. Our sources lists who owns and funds each one, and advocacy outlets are marked in the feed.
- Primary sources first. When we cite a ruling, a law or a rule, we link to the court, the legislature or the agency itself.
- If we are not sure, we say so. Unconfirmed items are marked as such or left out.
- Every tracker shows a "last checked" date.
How to read this site
- News Facts only, linked to the original law, ruling or reporting.
- Explainer What something means for you and what to do next.
- Perspective A clearly labeled opinion piece, from us or a guest writer.
- Your Voices A reader's own story, shared with their permission.
Our sources
Every headline in The Latest, Queer Joy and Wider World links to the outlet that reported it. Here is who those outlets are and who pays for them, so you can weigh them yourself. We never pull from national mainstream outlets.
